Section VI
Theoretical Framework
The Luna Cycler emerges at the intersection of three domains that rarely speak to one another: chronobiology, neurodivergence, and temporal anthropology. This section constructs a unified theoretical framework integrating all three.
Formal Definition
A high-amplitude, individual-specific, lunar-entrained infradian sleep oscillator, amplified by neurodivergent sensitivity and distorted by solar industrial temporal structures.
The Three Domains
Chronobiology
Infradian Rhythms- โธThe SCN is not the only biological clock โ humans exhibit menstrual, seasonal, metabolic, immune, and tidal cycles
- โธInfradian rhythms respond to gravity, electromagnetic fields, and ancestral mechanisms
- โธThe Luna Cycler fits naturally as a 29.5-day infradian oscillator
- โธChronobiology has neglected infradian rhythms due to methodological bias toward short-period cycles
Neurodivergence
Amplifier, Not Confounder- โธAutistic traits: atypical melatonin cycles, heightened interoception, strong pattern recognition
- โธBipolar physiology: circadian instability, light-driven mood shifts, infradian cycling (Wehr, 2018)
- โธNeurodivergence reveals patterns hidden in neurotypical noise
- โธMy nervous system is not malfunctioning โ it is detecting a signal others cannot
Temporal Anthropology
Clash of Calendars- โธModern society is built on solar, 7-day, Gregorian time โ none of it biological in origin
- โธLunar time is cyclical, embodied, variable; solar industrial time is linear and extractive
- โธForcing a lunar-entrained body into a solar schedule produces temporal dissonance
- โธThe conflict is structural mismatch, not personal dysfunction
Proposed Entrainment Mechanisms
๐ Light-mediated (melatonin at low lux)
๐ Gravitational (tidal forces)
โก Electromagnetic (geomagnetic modulation)
๐งฌ Evolutionary (ancestral adaptation)
